Last week i was lucky enough to be one of the very first passengers to board the Majestic Princess on its maiden voyage from Trieste for 4 nights.
Over the next few weeks ill be telling you all about the ship, today i’m going to tell you about my favourite space , the outdoor areas.
This was my first time on a Princess ship so i was excited to experience it first hand. The smell of newness was clear as you boarded the ship and the excitement was building for all those who were boarding her. After we boarded the ship we headed straight to the Pool deck for a look around and and a cocktail or two to get this cruise off in style, the main pool deck is simply stunning 2 good size pools split up the a central area where the fountains are. 2 bars and 2 outdoor eateries are at the side along with alfresco dining although slightly undercover.
It’s here you remember this ship wasn’t built for the American or european market as this ship has been build for the Asian Market the normal burger pizza bars have been replaced with a noodle bar at one side and a lobster and dim sum at the other, so if you like lobster you’re in for a treat, don’t panic though alongside the lobster for the time the ship is spent in the med they are offering a side line of beautifully fresh cooked to order burgers and Hot dogs!!
Anyway enough about food!
The ship is beautiful, no gimmicks on here no rock climbing walls or surfing here simply stunning surroundings to relax and enjoy, Premium luxury was bandied around and fits the bill perfectly. Majestic is the 3rd in the regal class so those who have sailed on royal and regal will in most parts know the ship well but with slight tweaks towards the Asian Market, there is a lot more space dedicated to the shopping facilities on board, 11,000 square feet in total and the shops reflect the premium luxury of the ship with designer brands on board, the casino is much lager and ever has a VVIP casino and a vip casino to please the Chinese market.
Not being stereotypical at all but there are even several Karaoke rooms onboard, these a little living room type areas you can hire out to entertain your family and friends. (i’m not a fan of karaoke however i have to say these were great fun and very good value, i just hope the videos don’t make there way onto social media!!!)
At the back of the ship is the outdoor gym area think of a chinese park with the locals doing gentle exercise and tai chi and this pretty much sums up this space only with the seas as a backdrop
There is a great indoor pool area, the Hollywood Pool club which is transformed into the Main Night club on an evening along with the Hollywood conservatory an indoor area with loungers and cabanas to relax in and giant board games to keep you entertained.
And not forgetting Movies under the stars this was truly an amazing space on an evening watching a movie under the stars mattresses are placed on top of the loungers for extra comfort, blankets and popcorn to keep you fed and warm whilst you watch the latest movies.
so that’s it for now ill be back later with more photos and to tell you about the dining and areas inside the ship.
