U River Cruises has just announced the decision to host two themed cruises this summer.
It will feature celebrity drag queens and star tattoo artists onboard its The A river ship in Germany.
The new tailored itineraries– Tattoo on U and U in Drag– are both versions of the eight-day Germany’s Finest itinerary that sails from Frankfurt to Regensburg.
The celebrity drag queens onboard will include Jiggly Caliente, Darienne Lake and Phi Phi O’hara as seen on RuPaul’s Drag Race, the US reality show which competes contestants for America’s next drag superstar.
Celebrity tattoo artists onboard will include Steven Tefft, winner of US show Ink Master; Reese Hilburn, from programme Tattoo Nightmares Miami; and Bobby Moss and his wife and model Heather Moss.
The itinerary will include a welcome party with the artists, a tattoo parlour crawl in one of the ports, and a brunch question and answer session.
Guests can expect prices for the themed cruises to start at £2,499.
The millennial-focused cruise line was originally known as U by Uniworld, but will now be known as U River Cruises.
The move was to further distinguish itself from parent company, Uniworld Boutique Boutique River Cruise collection.
“U is a very different experience from Uniworld, and we wanted the name to reflect that difference,” Uniworld’s CEO Ellen Bettridge said.
“It’s about clarity of brand. U is a distinct product designed for a new generation of river cruisers. It’s active, with a cool onboard vibe, fun nightlife and a casual crowd who enjoys farm-to-table dining as much as mountain biking.
We’re excited about the evolution of this incredible brand.”
The U in Drag sailing will embark on July 6th while Tattoo on U departs on August 17th.
