Seabourn has unveiled its top 10 reasons to cruise to the Arctic in 2025 onboard its ultra-luxury expedition ship, Seabourn Venture.

Sailing to the likes of Svalbard, Iceland, Greenland and the Canadian Arctic from May 2025, guests cruising onboard Seabourn Venture will experience scenic cruising through breathtaking landscapes, unique wildlife encounters, expert-led expeditions, and cultural immersion.

Following this, from August 2025 the ship will then set sail again for the legendary Northwest Passage, featuring two special journeys cruising through the Canadian Arctic between Greenland and Alaska.

A Signature Seabourn Experience, guests have the option to brave the icy waters with a polar plunge, diving into the Arctic Ocean for a refreshing and adrenaline-pumping thrill, supervised by experienced crew members.

The Svalbard Experience

Guests can hike across stark, otherworldly landscapes guided by Seabourn’s Expedition team. There will even be a chance to encounter Arctic foxes, Svalbard reindeer, and interesting bird species while exploring the tundra. The itinerary remains flexible, as the team onboard Seabourn Venture allow the weather, conditions and wildlife to dictate each day.

Svalbard, Greenland & Iceland Itineraries

Seabourn Venture will sail to Svalbard, Greenland & Iceland on cruises designed for guests who enjoy exploring remote destinations. Highlighted experiences include a driving tour of Lake Mývatn near Akureyri; an included walking tour of Qaqortoq in southwest Greenland, plus an optional exploration of the ice sculptures of Iceland’s Lofthellir Cave; and scenic cruising through the glittering icebergs of Svalbard.

These itineraries will range from eight to 26 days in length to Svalbard from mid-May to mid-June 2025, between Reykjavik and Edinburgh or roundtrip from Edinburgh. Seabourn Venture will also offer a 12-day voyage to explore Greenland from Reykjavik to Kangerlussuaq in late July 2025.

Both itineraries will include charter hotel stays pre- and/or post-cruise in Edinburgh or Reykjavik.

Northwest Passage Itineraries

Departing on 6th and 27th August 2025, Seabourn Venture will sail two back-to-back, 23-day itineraries across the iconic Northwest Passage. Expedition experiences include an Arctic Circle Trail Hike in Sisimiut, Greenland; and a walk through the Sermermiut Valley to the Ilulissat Icefjord Centre in Ilulissat, Greenland.

Both voyages will include charter hotel stays pre- and/or post-cruise in Anchorage and Reykjavik.

Canadian Arctic Itineraries

Guests can also experience the Canadian Arctic and Labrador with a 15-day cruise departing on 18th August 2025 from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland to St. John’s, Newfoundland.

During this itinerary, guests will spend two days in the Torngat Mountains National Park- a pristine Arctic wilderness preserving rich indigenous heritage and breathtaking fjords. Other memorable highlights include visiting the abandoned community at Hebron to learn about the Moravian missions; exploring the first Viking settlement in North America at L’Anse aux Meadows; and experiencing thriving Inuit culture in Pangnirtung and Nain.
