One of the largest travel agents in Japan, JTB Corporation, is chartering Sun Princess to be used as a floating hotel during the 2020 Olympic & Paralympic Games. In the port of Yokohama, the Princess vessel will be berthed at Yamashita pier from July 23rd to August 10th 2020. Real estate analysts predict a shortage of about 3,500 hotel rooms by the time the Olympics take place. The arrangement for the 2,000-guest vessel to act as a floating hotel will “help ease a shortage of accommodations during the Olympics,” JTB President Hiroyuki Takahashi said.
