Oceania Cruises has marked an important milestone as its newest ship, Allura, has floated out from its dry-dock.
A landmark moment in the construction of the 1,200-guest ship, Allura has now moved from dry-dock to the fitting-out berth at Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa, Italy- where its luxurious, designer-inspired interiors will now be fitted.
In a low-key ceremony, the ship was blessed by the shipyard’s chaplain, Father Stefano. The vessel was then traditionally christened by Allura‘s shipyard Madrina, Caterina Romeo; a designer in Fincantieri’s technical department.
“The float out is an important moment for all at Oceania Cruises and Fincantieri, as we progress closer to Allura joining our family. Now that we have completed her shell, we are excited to get started on her interior. We have lots of exciting enhancements on Allura, our eighth vessel, further elevating our offerings and firmly cementing Oceania Cruises as the only ultra-premium cruise brand.”
Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises
Allura is now entering the final stages of construction, striding quickly towards her debut in July 2025. Once complete, the ship promises to be a masterpiece of refined design and innovative offerings. The vessel follows her sister ship, Vista, becoming the eighth vessel to join Oceania Cruises’ fleet and the cruise line’s second Allura Class ship.
Officially entering service on 18th July 2025, Allura will depart from Trieste, Italy, sailing for six days to Athens, Greece, calling at gems in the Eastern Mediterranean including Rijeka, Croatia; Ravenna, Italy; Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Kotor, Montenegro.
Following her summer Mediterranean season, Allura will then sail to Canada and New England on a series of immersive cruises in North America before her premiere winter season in the Caribbean- homeporting in Miami. Additionally, Allura will also be sailing a one-of-a-kind four-day itinerary sailing roundtrip from New York City in September 2025, as part of her inaugural collection.
