Do you ever think about losing weight whilst you’re on holiday? Well, with MSC’s wellness programme you could.
MSC Cruises today announced their plans in association with Technogym to give passengers state of the art fitness facilities, food and drinks programmes and exclusive shore excursions.
The aim is to give cruisers a “wellness experience” to help them look and feel better or to improve sporting performance, health or happiness.
The experience will begin before the holiday has even begun as guests will undertake a scientific questionnaire (called the “Aspiration Finder”) to determine what their goal is.
Once on the ship, guests will meet with a Master Trainer and have a health check up from the on-board Doctor.
Guests can exercise their way to their goal in the swimming pools, scenic gym, open air sports facilities and on the adult only sundeck. There will also be exclusive classes available such as Hula Fit and Technogym Group Cycle classes.
Once on shore, those taking part can discover the sights whilst keeping active, such as joining in the jog around Ancient Olympia, a bike ride around Copenhagen or a triathlon in Cozumel.
At meal times, the menus will have wellness options and the buffet will have a dedicated corner with dishes for those taking part. There will also be a range of protein and energy drinks available for the sporty participants and even room service menus will have wellness options. So… no triple helpings at the buffet then!
To support the programme, a “mywellness” app will be available to help guests keep track of their progress. Those who have chosen to take part will find extras in their cabin including a wellness mat and gym bag, sports clothing and sports towel. They will also receive free laundry for their sports clothing and their cabin will show a dedicated sports channel.
What do you think of the news? Would you want to take part in MSC’s new Wellness Programme? Do you think that this sounds like a fat camp at sea or that it’s a great idea?
