Back in July 2016, it was announced that one certain Grammy and Brit-award winner has been spotted onboard QM2 recording a new album.
It was revealed that it was Ed Sheeran that has locked himself in an inside cabin onboard a transatlantic crossing to come up with new songs for his upcoming third album.
A source told a national newspaper at the time “Ed’s casual dress meant he couldn’t get into any of the fancy dinner areas, not that he cared.
“He was pretty much confined to two informal areas but was very laid back, happy and chatting to everyone.”
A documentary featuring footage of Sheeran recording parts of his latest album on board Cunard flagship Queen Mary 2 is to be shown at a New York film festival this evening, April 25th 2018.
Fans will witness Ed onboard the cruise from New York to Southampton as he goes through the process of recording the Divide album; staff on board set up a pop-up studio so he could record his tracks.
Filmed by his cousin, who also travelled on board the ship, the documentary will show Sheeran meeting the captain of QM2 and recording in the temporary studio.
The Songwriter film is to be shown at the Tribeca Film Festival this evening.
