Circus-Themed West End Show To Debut On Marella Ship

A spectacular West End-style show, featuring a life-size elephant puppet, is debuting on Marella Discovery 2 this summer!

The Marella Cruises ship will be staging Jumbo and the Wonder Circus, a heartwarming story set in a vintage circus that tells the story of Jumbo the Elephant and his circus act friends who endeavour to save him after he runs away after being spooked. The show will have its own aerial performances, unique costumes, traditional circus designs and feature covers of well-known hits by Coldplay, Katy Perry, Paloma Faith and U2.

Jumbo and the Wonder Circus is one of several new shows due to be staged for the first time on family-friendly Marella Discovery 2. Other shows, which will also be shown in the ship’s stage lounge, include Yellow Submarine, a celebration of The Beatles and some of their most memorable tracks, and Hollywoodland, a love story following an ambitious actor looking to make it in Tinsel Town, featuring music from La La Land, and 7 Sins of Rock, a headbanging showcase of ultimate rock classics.

“We’re always looking to refresh our entertainment on board, and with ‘Jumbo and the Wonder Circus’, the life-size puppet will be a first for a cruise line to be showcasing such an act, along with the other shows coming to Marella Discovery 2. Our new West-End style entertainment will give customers a new range of entertainment to enjoy when they’re on board our ship.”

Chris Hackney, Managing Director, Marella Cruises

Alongside this plethora of stellar entertainment, guests onboard Marella Discovery 2 can indulge in the ship’s enticing array of eight restaurants, outdoor cinema, two pools, rock climbing wall and mini golf course! The ship regularly departs on a range of all-inclusive voyages across the Canary Islands, Mediterranean and North Africa.
