Allure of the Seas To Undergo $100m Revamp

Outstanding Royal Caribbean ship Allure of the Seas is set to undergo a mega $100 million refurbishment. This whopping transformation will include the addition of several new eateries and epic activities.

The family-friendly cruise line has confirmed that the revamp will be completed by April 2025. Following the refurb, Allure of the Seas is due to set sail on a range of 7-night Mediterranean cruises, departing from Barcelona.

“From the new Icon and Utopia of the Seas to now the more than $100 million transformation of Allure of the Seas, we’ve upped the ante threefold on the different ways vacationers can get away and make memories with Royal Caribbean.

Allure will be reimagined with the best of Royal Caribbean and what travelers love. Between new favorites, like the Pesky Parrot tiki bar, and experiences that unlock core memories time and time again, from an incredible pool deck to an unmatched combination of thrills and ways to chill, Allure will have even more of everything that makes it a standout favorite.”

Jay Schneider, Chief Product Innovation Officer, Royal Caribbean International

As part of the revamp, Allure of the Sea’s pool deck will be reimagined to include more seating, pool loungers, and day beds. More thrilling outdoor pursuits will be added too, including the multistory Perfect Storm waterslides, adrenaline-pumping 10-story Ultimate Abyss dry slide, the action-packed Royal Escape Room – Apollo 18: Lunar Landing and Laser Tag (which will replace the current Studio B ice rink).

Elsewhere, Royal Caribbean will be amping up its kids’ clubs and child-friendly spaces onboard. The cruise line will be installing a dedicated water park for kids, Splashaway Bay, complete with slides, fountains, pools and whirlpools, enhancing its Adventure Ocean kids club with a new theatre, art and science tech and interactive games, and transforming its teen spaces into Social298, a fun-filled expanse with plenty of ways to chill out.

Elsewhere, foodies can get their fill of fresh new eating and drinking venues onboard Allure of the Seas. Poolside, guests will be able to pick up ice-cold drinks at Lime & Coconut, plus tacos, burritos and quesadillas at El Loco Fresh.

Additionally, Pesky Parrot, a tiki bar serving fruity cocktails, Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, a tasty lounge showing tons of live sports, and The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar, a Southern comfort food hotspot, are also all due to be installed onboard Allure of the Seas.

Allure of the Seas is the latest ship in Royal Caribbean’s hefty fleet to undergo a major refurb following Oasis of the Seas’ revamp in 2019.
